Write for us
We welcome thoughtful pitches about pastimes, clubs, games, collecting, making and outings. A strong contribution gives readers a clear subject, a distinct point of view and details they can use or understand without inflated claims.
What to pitch
We are interested in clear explanations, comparisons, cultural context, histories of leisure and well-focused guides for an occasion or activity. Choose a subject small enough to handle with care, and make clear what your proposed piece would help a reader notice, choose or try.
What makes a good proposal
Send a working title, a short summary, the intended reader and any relevant experience or sources you expect to draw on. Tell us whether the piece has been published elsewhere. Avoid pitches built on unsupported claims, confidential material, or advice that requires a professional or local authority to verify.
How to send it
Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. A pitch is a proposal, not a commission; wait for a response before drafting a full article. Do not include private information that is not needed to assess the idea.
